Abstract [en]

This paper proposes a Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) to solve the developed model for multi-objective max-min redundancy allocation problems (RAPs). In this paper, the model for the multi-objective max-min RAPs (MOMRAPs), already presented by others, is developed. To develop this model the pre-assumption that the redundancy strategies of all subsystems are active and predetermined, is removed. Selecting the best redundancy strategy, either active or cold standby, for each subsystem can improve the reliability of systems.

Also, the proposed model can be used for any system structure such as series-parallel system, complicated system, and the like. This problem belongs to the NP-hard class. Therefore, this paper presents an NSGA-II to find the non-dominated solutions for the given problem. Finally, the advantages of the presented multi-objective model and the proposed algorithm are illustrated by solving test problems taken from the literature and the efficiency of the proposed method is discussed
