Work-package WP 56 of the project C4R Capacity4Rail aimed at identifying opportunities for future Research and Development activities into Cohesion Policy fund programs. With this scope all relevant information from the previous technical Sub-projects, SP 1 to 4 and from the Demonstration carried out has been collected. Under the light of the progress achieved within the project, the 2030/2050 Vision of Railways has been reviewed. The gap between the situation achieved at the end of the project and the updated Vision is presented and evaluated in the 1st deliverable produced by this WP, deliverable D56.1 “Refined Railway system 2030/2050”. In the present document, the main results achieved in Capacity4Rail are included and summarized.
