Abstract [en]

The HESE2 project is carried out within KAJT (KApacitet I Järnvägstrafiken), Capacity in the Railway Traffic System, which is a research program for improved railway system performance financed by the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket). The project aims to expand functions that were developed in a previous project (HESE). The main purpose is to compute technical headway given input data in the form of track, signal, vehicle parameters, and other ETCS parameters, and with an emphasis on making it easy to vary the input data in order to be able to compare different cases relatively easily. The extensions in HESE2 project concern the handling of Hybrid Train Detection (HTD) and the modeling of some different driving profiles.
