Abstract [en]

The pre-study has focused on transport cases from the daily commodities (chilled, frozen and colonial food) and consumer goods segments which often are volume limited transports. DB Schenker and Kallebäcks transport are today active in testing HCT, and Bäckebol kyltransporter see benefits to implement HCT for a part of their transport assignments. The transport operators were selected as they have a long experience in the transport industry and have an interest in implementing HCT. The data collection and the following analysis have identified a number of challenges that transport operators face when it comes to an efficient implementation of HCT. They are presented in four main areas.  Feasibility of HCT in assignments  Functionality of HCT vehicle combinations  Limitations in transport routes  Measurement of HCT transport effects
