Abstract [en]

In this report, a wide range of sensors are considered, and examples of laboratory and field based evaluations are provided. Technologies are first identified and screened using a technology marketplace / identification framework, before being evaluated for use within the railway industry. Sensing technologies considered include: computer vision systems, accelerometers, gyroscopes, strain gauges, magnetometers, thermometers, weather stations, acoustic sensing, and fibre optics. The sensing technologies are assessed, using the framework developed within the project and described in D4.2.1.
